New build family home in Wimbledon Village.

 

Nestled in the heart of the Wimbledon Village Conservation Area, Fieldwork were commissioned to remove an existing dilapidated home and replace this with a contemporary dwelling which responded to the surrounding street in form and materials.   

 

The house is composed of two separate forms that each respond to their surrounding context and pull apart to provide natural light and stack ventilation via a central atrium. The design is driven by a commitment to towards a net zero dwelling, this includes timber framed construction, biodiversity measures and the integration of sustainable technologies such as ground source heat pumps (GSHP) mechanical heat recovery ventilation (MHRV), waste water recycling and PV cells.
